Tiki torches under fire Nearly one million torches recalled after reports of catching on fire. August 23, 2005: 11:25 AM EDTNEW YORK (CNN/Money) – A federal safety agency announced Tuesday the recall of nearly 1 million bamboo Tiki torches and replacement canisters.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said that the Tiki Bamboo Torches, manufactured by Lamplight Farms, pose a risk of catching on fire and causing burns or property damage.
So far, Lamplight Farms has received 33 reports of torches catching fire. Six reports of minor injuries and nine reports of property damaged have been lodged with the manufacturer.
